| | Throughout my whole life never have I read something as beautiful and as powerful as the Ballad of Reading Gaol by Oscar Wilde. I cannot even start to describe its beauty. I read it today and I loved it - or to be more accurate: I became obsessed with it. It's so great, you can't imagine. I'm actually dying to finish my exams in order to read the complete works of Oscar Wilde. I'm wondering how on earth could it be possible that he might have written something even more beautiful than the ballad of reading gaol - but surely he did. (Oh my God, I'm so anxious to read his only novel; The Picture Of Dorian Gray.)
I've posted the whole ballad for you in the reviews - you'll love it (if you like poetry, of course).
P.S: It is fascinating to actually listen to a reading of the ballad while you're reading it. Just search in google for poetry reading and I'm sure you'll find one. I'll also try to get a link for it.
